Updates from May 2011

Since I'll be finishing my role here in India in early July, these days I'm particularly busy trying to fit everything in. Here are a few updates on what I've been up to at work in May:

  • made new product labels for Green the Gap:

  • Co-faciliated a 1-day workshop on volunteering for HR and CSR personnel from the IT industry, with other VSO India representatives
  • Worked on Green the Gap values and tailors' contracts, and got them translated into Hindi - to ensure tailors know their rights
  • Wrote an article for VSO India newsletter on my experience at Swechha, and an article on the alternative fair trade system Aldianawo being set up in Senegal for Ethical Fashion Forum's The Source
  • Attended a VSO lunch with Baroness Royall of Blaisdon, current leader of the opposition in the House of Lords - who came to India to volunteer through VSO for 10 days
