The Green the Gap workshop is looking good these days – with a sign made of tyres and colourful murals on the walls, so we were pleased to be able to show it off to a group of visiting UK parliamentarians and philanthropists (including Virendra Sharma, Labour MP for Southall; Anne Page, education specialist; a former Lib Dem MP, …) on 5th October 2010. The delegation were interested in seeing Swechha’s work first hand – through visiting the Pagdandi project children’s library in the local slum community, seeing our Green the Gap sewing workshop, and watching Swechha films on waste and recycling in the office. Discussions about India and development took place with the Swechha team.
