The website of the Yakaar Niani Wulli Federation has been updated. The federation groups together members from a number of villages in the Koussanar area, Tambacounda region, Senegal. Among other activites, the federation grows and transforms certified organic fair trade cotton.
Information can be found on the updated website (in French at the moment) on:
- the cultivation of cotton
- spinning - by hand and using spinning wheels
- weaving and tailors
- the cultivation of indigo
- dying the cotton using indigo
- the first products of the federation (including textiles)
as well as on issues surrounding the villagers' work (gender issues, fair trade, climate, literacy classes...)
