In April 2008 I worked on developing a range of prototypes using narrow bands of cotton produced by the people of the Yakaar Niani Wulli Federation in Koussanar, Senegal. The cotton is grown, spun, woven, and naturally dyed using indigo by villagers in the region. Using rolls of the narrow strips I produced some ideas for products - homeware and accessories In Dakar, also working in collaboration with a local tailor who completed the machine embroidery finishings.
